April 15 Headed home to celebrate Easter with my family and remind my wife, Michelle that so do love her! Gary Nelson and I arrived at the Krakow airport early Friday morning to return the “Miracle Van”, get Covid tested and hop on our flight.
As we joined the line to check in, guess who was in front on us? It was OT Benson and family on their way to spring break. It was fun to catch up and fly with them into Amsterdam.
After checking in and walking past the check in line, I bump into Elisabeth Cress Jackson and Trason Jackson. Elizabeth is a daughter to my best friend Justin Cress who lives in my neighborhood. Small world! Trason even sat right behind me on the flight from KRK to AMS.
On our flight to SLC, Dana, the wonderful Delta flight attendant saw my Snowbird hat and asked: are you from Utah? I responded with no, I am from Idaho. She then asks if I knew anything about whitewater rafting. Little did she know that this is a passion of mine and I am a former river guide. We had a nice visit about rafting, rafts and I gave her a recommendation to talk to my good friend Alan N Geana Davis about buying a boat. Dana got called to the back of the plane to help with a medical emergency do I didn’t get to say goodbye as I exited the Plane.
As Gary and I rode the Traxx into the city he mentioned to me he needed to go to St. George. I told him it didn’t make sense for him to drive me up to Twin Falls to turn around and drive back to Southern Utah. I called my sweet daughter Annika Sturgill and ask if she would take me home for Easter. She said yes and I told her to meet me at the Church Office building. I was hoping to visit with Elder Sabin, so I left him a message and headed that way. I also had an appointment with Sister Checketts who is an immigration attorney to discuss options for refugees coming to the USA from Ukraine.
As I walked up to the office building Elder Sabin’s secretary called my cell and said if I was close by Elder Sabin had 40 minutes to visit. His Secretary met me at checkin and took me up. Had a good visit with Elder Sabin and Sister Checketts is a wealth of knowledge concerning refugees and immigration.Annika picked me up and we headed toward Brigham City and dinner at Maddox. After dinner I received the following text messsge from Dana. God is in the details!
